PILLAR Thailand Hosted a Technical Seminar on “Save Power Consumption & Sustainable Society” in Rayong

Updated: Oct 8

On September 25, 2025, PILLAR Seal Solutions (Thailand) Co., Ltd. successfully held a technical seminar under the theme “Save Power Consumption & Sustainable Society” at Tamarind Garden Hotel, Rayong. The event was supported by PILLAR Corporation and Tanken Seal Seiko Co., Ltd. from Japan, both of which sent representatives to participate as guest speakers.

The seminar began with an opening speech by Mr. Daisuke Hirai, Director of PILLAR Thailand, who warmly welcomed all participants and introduced the seminar’s main concept — highlighting innovative sealing technologies that contribute to energy saving and environmental sustainability.

Following the opening, Mr. Pattapon Tangwipas, Assistant Sales Manager of PILLAR Thailand, gave an overview of PILLAR Corporation, a Japanese manufacturer with over 100 years of experience in seals and fluororesin-based materials. He also introduced the PILAFLON™ product series, including Rod Packing, Piston Ring, Rider Ring, Slide Bearing, and Seismic Isolation products.

Next, Mr. Takahisa Fukunishi from PILLAR Corporation Japan presented the latest innovations from PILLAR-TANKEN mechanical seal product line:

🔹 3C Cartridge Seal – a newly developed compact mechanical cartridge seal.

🔹 Energy Saving Series (GAKQ0 Type) – an energy-efficient seal featuring a knife-edge face design that minimizes friction and heat generation, suitable for high-viscosity fluids and a wide range of chemical applications.

In the final session, Mr. Michihiro Nakagawa and Mr. Masakazu Murata from Tanken Seal Seiko Japan shared the history of TANKEN and introduced the ABC Seal — a Split Type seal designed to work with Nitrogen Purge systems for rotating equipment such as reciprocating compressors and kneaders. The ABC Seal is capable of sealing both powder and liquid media efficiently, offering a long service life of 5–6 years, making it a cost-effective alternative to traditional gland packings.

Additionally, he introduced the HS Seal (Hydro Static Seal), which utilizes Porous Carbon material to evenly distribute gas pressure across the sealing face, improving sealing performance and extending operational life.

The seminar attracted strong participation from engineers and professionals from industrial plants across Rayong province, reflecting PILLAR Thailand’s ongoing commitment to promoting advanced sealing technologies that help reduce power consumption and support a sustainable society in Thailand.
